ABOUT THE CLASS:
Going to a writer’s conference – whether your first or your fortieth – is a huge commitment of your resources, especially time and money. Knowing what to expect and preparing for it properly will help you reap the most rewards. In this class, students will hear a variety of opinions on how best to prepare for a writer’s conference from people who have done it well and those who learned from their mistakes. Learn about the CHARACTERS (agents, editors, other writers), the SETTING (what you should bring), the PLOT (workshops, meetings, meals), and more.

Useful information for any writer’s conference, the lectures and Q&A will particularly touch on preparing for the upcoming RWA National Conference. All students will be encouraged to not only ask questions, but to share their wisdom and experiences with the class.

ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR:
OCC RWA member Kitty Bucholtz has taught classes at writer’s conferences around the country. She has compiled information from her own experience and that of others to give students the broadest range of information. Even though she loves talking about, writing about, and teaching about writing, she’s pretty sure she knows at least three people who aren’t writers. COST: $10 for OCC members $15 for non-members
Enrollment in OCC/RWA Online classes is a two step process.
